Do you ever have days when everything seems to bother you? Days when you don’t want to answer another phone call, see another email pop into your inbox, hear your name called one more time, or even be remotely asked, “what’s for dinner?”
How do you rebound from those days? I’m asking for a friend.
I don’t know about you, but this has been a uniquely trying week for me. I was officially drafted to #TeamNoSleep when my Cub’s subtle cough quickly escalated to full on congestion, coughing, wheezing, sneezing, labored breathing, restless nights and administering breathing treatments and medicine around the clock.
By the end of the week I found myself extremely irritable, exhausted and reacting poorly to things that I would normally be able to just brush off. Why? Because that is what running on empty looks and feels like.
After loosing my #@&% in response to something very simple, I knew something was wrong – I was in despite need of a fill-up! After putting my Cub down for bed, I came downstairs and immediately reached for my Bible.
“She is clothed with strength and dignity and laughs without fear of the future.” – Proverbs 31:25
Sounds like if you looked up the word ‘unbothered’ in the dictionary, a picture of the P31 Woman would be right there smiling back at you. Scripture doesn’t go into detail about the things the P31 Woman does to care and minister to herself – but it is clear that she is plugged into the greatest Power Source there ever was, is and will be.
After reading my Bible, my emotions calmed, my irritability evaporated and I was gently reminded of some things I needed to do to re-fill my tank.
